Advice and guidance for members of the public about food and hygiene complaints.
SRS assess food and hygiene complaints and investigate if there is a risk to public health.
Food and hygiene complaints include:
- Food unfit for consumption, e.g. decomposing meat
- Food that is contaminated, e.g. heavy mould growth on cheese
- An item found within the food that shouldn't be there, e.g. a bolt in a loaf of bread
- Standards of cleanliness at a food business
Report a Food or Hygiene Complaint
If you are concerned about food handling practices or standards of cleanliness at a food business, please provide the details for further investigation.
Please note: Unsatisfactory quality food or drink should be reported to the shop, manufacturer or supplier where the goods were purchased.
Please note that Shared Regulatory Services will not seek to obtain or otherwise negotiate any compensation or redress on the behalf of the customer(s). We do not investigate anonymous complaints.
